A rebate is a payment made after the fact, based on how much was bought over a period. Suppliers pay distributors rebates on volume; distributors pay customers rebates to reward loyalty and growth.
Rebates are easy to agree and easy to lose. A supplier rebate that nobody tracks against receipts is never claimed, and a customer rebate that nobody accrues becomes a surprise liability. Each agreement should spell out the period, the products covered, the target and how the rebate will be paid, so both sides calculate the same number.
APFoodz tracks both supplier rebates and customer rebates.
