What is Lot tracking?

Recording each batch of product as a lot with its source and dates, so it can be followed from receipt to customer.

Lot tracking assigns every batch of received product a lot identity and keeps it attached as the product moves: which supplier and PO it came from, its dates, where it is stored, and which customers received it.

For food distributors lot tracking is the foundation for expiry control, recalls and traceability rules. Without it, a recall means guessing which customers might have received a product; with it, the answer is a search.

In APFoodz every receipt becomes a lot that can be followed from the dock to the customer.
