When a lot is recalled, the list of customers is one search away.
APFoodz records each lot's events as the work happens: received, stored, moved, picked, shipped, delivered, returned. A trace forward or back is a search, and a recall opens a task for every customer that received the lot.
A recall is a clock.
When a supplier recalls a lot you have hours, not days, to name every customer who received a case from it, and the FDA's traceability rule asks for the records behind that answer.
Because every receipt, move, pick and delivery is already recorded against the lot, APFoodz answers the question from records you are keeping anyway.
What is recorded and what you can do with it.
Lot events
Every receipt, move, pick, shipment, delivery and return, plus holds, counts and write-offs.
Who, when, where
Each event keeps the time, the person, the locations, the supplier or customer, the PO or order, the quantity and the receiving temperature.
Traceability lot codes
A traceability lot code generated for each lot, beside the packer's own lot code.
Trace forward and back
Search by lot, supplier lot, item, PO, order or customer.
The whole chain
Supplier, PO and receipt; where the lot is now; and every customer, order, route, driver and proof of delivery.
Recall
A reason, an urgent task per customer that received the lot, and a pre-filled recall email for each.
Exports
A lot's trace as PDF or CSV.
On the handheld
Lot lookup from the warehouse app.
FSMA 204 traceability & recalls: questions we are asked.
Does APFoodz make us FSMA 204 compliant?
Software is part of it. APFoodz records the events and makes a trace a lookup; compliance also depends on your traceability plan and the data your suppliers send. The FDA's compliance date is July 20, 2028.
Can we trace by the supplier's lot number?
Yes. Searching by the supplier's lot code is the recall search.
Which items are covered?
You mark items for traceability one by one, or set a company default.
