What is Reorder point?

The stock level at which you should order more, set so new stock arrives before you run out.

A reorder point is the inventory level that triggers a purchase. It is usually the demand expected during the supplier's lead time plus safety stock: if you sell 20 cases a day and the supplier takes 3 days, you reorder before you are down to 60 cases plus your buffer.

Reorder points need updating as demand changes. A fixed number set last year over-orders slow items and under-orders the ones that have taken off.

APFoodz flags items that need reordering in its replenishment suggestions.
