What is Cut-off time?

The latest time an order can be placed to make a given delivery day, set by the warehouse's picking and routing schedule.

A cut-off time is the deadline for an order to make a particular delivery. A warehouse that picks in the evening and loads trucks before dawn cannot add orders after the pick lists are printed, so it sets a same-day or next-day cut-off.

Cut-offs protect the warehouse and the customer. An order accepted after the cut-off either misses the truck or forces a re-pick, and a promise made at the order desk that the warehouse cannot keep becomes a service failure the next morning.

In APFoodz each warehouse sets its own cut-offs, and they hold on the order desk and the storefront alike.
