Tolls, parking, a helper.
Cost of the route$0.00
Cost per stop$0.00
Cost per case delivered$0.00
Cost per mile$0.00

Every stop costs the same, whatever is on the order.

A route's cost is mostly fixed once the truck leaves: the driver's day, the fuel for the miles and the truck itself. Divide it by the stops and you see what each delivery costs you before a single case is priced.

How it is calculated

  • Driver: pay per hour times hours on the route.
  • Fuel: miles divided by miles per gallon, times the price per gallon.
  • Truck and other: the day's truck cost plus anything else the route costs.

Cost per stop is why minimum orders exist: a stop for two cases costs the same as a stop for forty. In APFoodz, routes are built around truck capacity and delivery windows, and minimum orders can be enforced when the order is placed.

Questions about this tool.

What should I include in truck cost?

Whatever a truck costs you per day whether it moves or not: lease or depreciation, insurance, maintenance and registration, divided by working days.

How do I lower cost per stop?

More stops per route, fewer miles between them, and full trucks. Small orders cost the same stop as large ones, which is why minimum orders exist.
